Our Supply Chain Explained

Our Supply Chain Explained

You've probably asked this at least once while checking out: "why does this cost what it costs?" Fair question. Most brands never answer it. We're going to.

Here's an honest breakdown of where your money actually goes when you buy something made-to-order from us, using a standard oversized tee as the example.

Materials: The Fabric Itself

A meaningful chunk of every purchase goes straight into the fabric and trims, the cotton, the thread, the labels, the packaging tags. Quality fabric costs more upfront, but it's also the difference between a tee that survives 100 washes and one that doesn't survive ten.

This is the part of the cost that's easiest to cut corners on, and the part we refuse to.

Labor: The People Who Actually Make It

Every piece is cut and stitched by real people, and their labor is priced into every order, not squeezed out of it. This is one of the biggest differences between a made-to-order model and mass fast fashion: there's no race to the bottom on labor costs because there's no need to undercut a competitor's overproduction.

Paying fair labor costs isn't a marketing line for us. It's just where a real portion of your ₹1 goes.

Production: Cutting, Stitching, Finishing

Beyond raw labor, there's the actual production process, running the machines, quality checks, finishing touches like hems and prints. Made-to-order production is slower and more deliberate than mass manufacturing, and that shows up in the cost, because nothing here is optimized for speed at the expense of quality.

Packaging and Shipping

Getting your order from our production floor to your doorstep isn't free, and we're not going to pretend it is. Packaging materials, shipping costs, and logistics all take their share. Since we don't hold warehouse inventory, this cost is tied directly to your specific order, not spread across unsold stock sitting somewhere.

Platform and Payment Costs

Running a website, processing payments, and keeping the checkout experience smooth all cost money too. It's not glamorous, but it's real, and it's part of every transaction whether you notice it or not.

What's Left: Keeping The Brand Running

After all of that, what's left covers the actual operation of the business, design work, customer support, the people behind the brand who aren't on the production floor but are still part of making this happen.

This is not the biggest slice of the pie, and it's not supposed to be. It's what keeps KRPA able to keep making things the way we make them.

Why This Looks Different From Fast Fashion

Fast fashion brands often have an entirely different cost structure hiding under the surface: massive volume discounts on materials, labor costs pushed as low as possible, huge marketing budgets, and enormous markups to cover unsold inventory sitting in warehouses.

Made-to-order flips that. No unsold stock to cover. No inflated "original price" to discount from. Just the real cost of making one specific piece for one specific person.

The Real Tea

Transparency isn't a trend we're chasing. It's genuinely just easier to explain a price you're not ashamed of. When you know where your ₹1 goes, you can decide for yourself if that's worth it to you, and we'd rather you decide with the full picture.

P.S. Made-to-order isn't the cheapest model out there. It's the most honest one. Those aren't always the same thing, and that's okay.

P.P.S. Every order is made specifically for you, which means your ₹1 isn't subsidizing stock that never sold.
